Wonderful Black Fives Exhibition Opening Celebration (PHOTOS)


The opening reception for the Black Fives Exhibition at the New-York Historical Society was a big success and a memorable event for everyone who were there.

The gathering of about 250 guests of the museum and of the Black Fives Foundation included descendants of Black Fives Era players, several basketball legends, NBA team officials, and other celebrated personalities.

Sharon Lopez and Stephen Edidin“The stars of the night and the real winners with this exhibition are the descendants of the players and contributors who made this history, some more than a century ago, as well as all of the many supporters and fans of the important stories from this once-forgotten period,” said Black Fives Foundation executive director Claude Johnson. “We invited all of the descendants we could find, and had a great turnout.”

The Black Fives Exhibition at the New-York Historical Society will be open through July 20, 2014.
