This week’s artifact from the Black Fives Foundation Historical Archive is a special book by a beloved athlete, activist, and scholar. (Hint: There’s a stadium named after him.)

The book is special to us because back in 1996, it inspired Claude Johnson to begin his journey of research and discovery about the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball, which eventually led to the formation of our organization.

Something else makes it very special though.

Which book? Who wrote it? What stadium? How did that come about? What else? To find out, watch the video!

It’s your turn to #makehistorynow!
