Here is a wonderful video clip from ESPN.com honoring Nathaniel “Sweetwater” Clifton, one of the first three African Americans to play in the National Basketball Association, beginning in 1950. They are running this during Black History Month and perhaps beyond.

Clifton also played for the New York Rens and the Harlem Globetrotters, before signing with the New York Knicks.
